The Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) Board has appointed Tim Stone to serve as Chairman and Ouss Sahhar as Vice Chairman, effective July 1.
“I am confident that these leaders will help to escort our institution to even greater accomplishment,” said P&HCC President Dr. Greg Hodges. “They have already demonstrated a profound commitment to the region through their service on the Board and I look forward to working with them as we continue to do all we can to prepare our community for a successful future.”
Stone, who represents Henry County on the Board and has previously served as Vice Chairman, said, “I would like to thank Jewell Drewery for her leadership and service as Chairperson. I look forward to continuing to support the mission of Patrick & Henry in the coming year by serving in this new role.”
Sahhar, who represents Martinsville City on the Board, added, “It is an honor to be part of the ongoing success of Patrick & Henry Community College and the role it plays in supporting the growth of our community through education and economic development.”
About the P&HCC Board: The College Board is comprised of members of the communities served by Patrick & Henry Community College. Members are appointed by the governing bodies of the jurisdictions they represent. P&HCC serves the City of Martinsville and the counties of Henry, Patrick, and Franklin. Board members generally serve four-year terms, which are renewable. Officers are elected by fellow board members. The Patrick & Henry Community College Board meets the 3rd Monday of the following months: July, September, November, January (4th Monday due to MLK Day), March, and May. Meetings are held at 12:00 noon.
