Patrick & Henry Community College will celebrate Commencement on Friday, May 15 at 6:00 p.m. in Stone Hall.
Eligibility to Participate
Students wishing to participate in Commencement must have:
- Applied for graduation by March 31 and
- Submitted the participation form by April 17
Students who did not complete these steps should contact Megan Walker, at mwalker@patrickhenry.edu.
Caps and Gowns
- Regalia must be purchased through the college bookstore
- For questions, contact the bookstore at 276-656-0319
Guidelines:
- Students may decorate the top of their caps only
- No modifications are permitted to gowns, hoods, or stoles
Recognized groups at commencement include:
- Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)
- P&HCC Scholars
- Military
- Presidential Student Leadership Cabinet
PTK regalia must be ordered through the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Shop.
Outside organizational cords or stoles are not permitted.
Information Session
An information session will be held on Thursday, May 14 at 11:00 a.m. in Stone Hall.
This session will:
- Provide an overview of the ceremony
- Address common questions and concerns
Please note: This session is optional and is not a rehearsal.
Commencement Check-In
- All graduates must check in by 5:00 p.m. at Philpott Hall
- Graduates will receive reader cards and lineup instructions
Weather contingency:
- In case of rain, check-in will move to Stone Hall
The procession will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m.
Tickets and Guest Information
- The ceremony will take place in the Stone Hall Gymnasium
- Doors open at 5:00 p.m.
- The ceremony begins at 6:00 p.m.
Ticket Policy:
- Commencement is a ticketed event
- All guests (including children, except infants held in arms) must have a ticket
Ticket allotments:
- Students who met deadlines: up to 5 guest tickets
- Students added after the deadline: 2 guest tickets
- Additional ticket requests cannot be accommodated
Viewing options:
- Livestream available in the Walker Fine Arts Theatre
- Online viewing available via Patrick & Henry’s Facebook page
Commencement Program
Remaining programs will be available after the ceremony
Programs will be distributed to guests at entry
Each family will receive one program
Graduates will also receive a program copy
