Practical Nursing (PN)

P&HCC’s Practical Nursing Program (PN) is a 3-semester certificate program. The program is offered over three sequential semesters: summer, fall, and spring. The PN program accepts applications once per year during our spring semester. The dates for the 2025 application period will be announced during our fall 2024 semester.  

We recommend speaking with a Nursing Advisor (clester@patrickhenry.edu) to review admission requirements. All applicants to the program must attend an Information Session within 6 months of submitting their application to the program. Nursing Information Sessions will resume in August 2024.

Applicants must have official transcripts from high school, GED, and/or previous colleges sent directly to P&HCC. Mail to:

[Sealed transcripts can be accepted in-person, electronic transcripts can be accepted if they are sent from the former institution directly to admissions@patrickhenry.edu.Transcripts that are electronically forwarded, printed by the student, or unsealed are not official.]

PN-Pre-Admission Testing:

Students who have applied and met the pre-application and pre-requisite requirements will be invited to take the ATI TEAS entrance exam.  Areas of assessment include science, math, reading and English and language usage. ATI TEAS study guides are on closed reserve in the Learning Resource Center (LRC) and the most recent manual information can be accessed at ATI TEAS Study Manual - For Students | ATI (atitesting.com). Students can also make an appointment in the Math Lab or Tutoring Center in the LRC to review exam topics.
