Math Lab

The Carolyn R. Byrd Math Lab offers free individual and group assistance with on-level math subjects, course textbooks with solutions manuals, and desktop computers.


Math Lab Summer Hours

·     Monday:                       10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

·     Tuesday:                       Noon to 4:00 p.m.

·     Wednesday:                 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

·     Thursday:                     10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

·     Friday - Sunday:           Closed 

Developmental Math Assessment Center (DMAC)

The Developmental Math Assessment Center (DMAC) is a computer lab for developmental mathematics tutoring and assistance for individuals or groups. All developmental math courses are held in the DMAC and lab assistants are available whenever the DMAC is open. Math review modules can be used to prepare for placement tests and developmental math courses.

Individual Tutoring

Free individual, personalized tutoring is available to all PHCC students in most subjects. Students are encourage to contact the tutor coordinator to schedule an appointment as soon as they need assistance.

Smarthinking is on-demand, online tutoring designed to increase student achievement, boost retention, and enhance learning. Smarthinking connects students to expert educators anytime from any internet-connected computer. It is available to all PHCC students and can be accessed by logging in to myPHCC, then Blackboard.
