Local experts presenting at PHCC health conference.


On Wednesday, April 26 the Healthy U For Living conference is coming to Patrick Henry Community College (PHCC) sponsored by the Alliance for Excellence – an organization for educational attainment.

The event begins at 10 a.m. in the Walker Fine Arts theater and features three interactive sessions on the treatment and prevention of common health issues. The event is free and open to the public. 

·         Dr. Caren T. Aaron, MD starts off the conference with a presentation on Mammography from 10 – 11 a.m.

·         Amy Webster, BSN, MSN will follow discussing Colon Health from 11 a.m. to noon.

·         Dr. Terri Younger Eure, DO will discuss Communicable Diseases from noon to 1 p.m. 

“We want students, staff and the community to be aware of the health issues that so many people in our community face,” says Alliance for Excellence board member Dr. Ophelia Griggs. “We hope people will leave this conference feeling informed and understanding better the importance of taking care of yourself.”

Dr. Aaron and Dr. Eure practice medicine at Martinsville Memorial Hospital. Webster is the Coordinator of Health Science at PHCC. The Healthy U for Living is a drop-in event. Participates can choose to come to one or two sessions or stay for all three.
