We require all applicants whose first language is not English to adequately demonstrate English competency as a part of the application process. Students may demonstrate competency by submitting scores from IELTS (International English Language Testing System),  TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), or ITEP (International Test of English Proficiency). Our institution requires a minimum overall band score of {6.0} on IELTS, {61} on TOEFL, and {3.7} on ITEP.

Patrick Henry Community College only accepts scores submitted electronically by the chosen test center. No paper Test Report Forms will be accepted. An institutional code is NOT required for IELTS. For TOEFL, use CEEB school code 5549. Please contact the test center directly where you took your English Proficiency test and request that your official test scores be sent electronically. Government regulations require that you must demonstrate your ability to pay medical expenses while attending school in the United States. You will be required to purchase international student health insurance. PHCC does not have a preferred insurer. You may obtain insurance from the vendor or company of your choice.
